Springfield police make arrest in shooting incident
SPRINGFIELD - In an update to a story WAND brought you on Thursday, the Springfield Police Department says an arrest has been made in connection with a shooting incident that happened on January 28.
Police say at about 7:40 p.m., an individual suffered multiple non-life-threatening gunshot wounds in the 1200 Block of Martin Luther King Drive. Springfield Police Detectives, with the help of officers from the Pro-Active Crime Unit and Central Illinois Enforcement Group, say they were able to identify a suspect in this incident.
Springfield police say an arrest warrant for Kattrell Morris, 34, was obtained on January 29. Springfield police officers and members of the U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force located and arrested Morris without incident at about 5:00 p.m. the same day.
Police say Morris currently faces charges of aggravated battery with a firearm and unlawful possession of a weapon by a felon. His bond is set at $250,000.
