Man sentenced to 4 years in prison for 1993 burglary

PEKIN - A Missouri man who pleaded guilty to a burglary in Illinois more than 20 years ago has finally been sentenced for the crime.

Authorities say Jeremy Vishino, 39, pleaded guilty in 1994 to stealing several items, including five firearms, from a Tremont home a year prior.  Vishino was scheduled to be sentenced two months later, but failed to show up for court.

For 21 years, authorities say apparent paperwork mishaps allowed Vishino to dodge his sentencing, before renewed efforts from the Tazewell County State's Attorney's Office resulted in his arrest on January 2.

Vishino was finally sentenced for four year in prison on Wednesday.
