DECATUR - Decatur-Macon County Opportunities Corporation officials say staff will assist senior citizens in applying for Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program heating assistance on February 11.
Senior citizens who wish to apply for heating assistance are encouraged to visit the Decatur-Macon County Senior Center and receive help on February 11. Appointments must be made in advance by calling (217) 429-1239.
Interested residents must bring their most recent power bill, proof of the last 30 days of income for everyone in the household, Social Security cards for everyone in the household, rent receipt/lease with current address or proof of home ownership, and your Public Aid Medical Card if you have one.
Applicants must also fall under an income threshold, based on 30-day gross income. We've included those threshold amounts below:
