SPRINGFIELD, Ill. (AP) -- Governor Bruce Rauner gives his first State of the State address at noon today.
It comes as Illinois is facing a multibillion-dollar budget hole and some programs are running out of money. Rauner says Illinois needs to reduce spending on Medicaid and pensions and make the state more business-friendly.
An administration official says Rauner will also advocate hiking spending for early childhood education and K-12 schools. He'll also promote investment in technical and vocational training.
The State of the State address will stream live on www.wandtv.com and we'll have full coverage at Noon, 4,5,6, and 10.
