Springfield police investigate armed robbery

SPRINGFIELD - Springfield police are seeking the public's help in their investigation of an early morning armed robbery that happened on February 7.

Authorities say at about 1:00 a.m., a male approached a woman in her driveway, located in the 2600 block of South 10th Street, punched her in the face, and took money from her pockets while holding a knife.  After taking the money, police say the male ran north from the area.

Springfield police say the suspect is described as a black male in his 20s, standing about 6'2", weighing about 150 to 170 pounds.  Police say the suspect was wearing a black-colored hooded sweatshirt.
