Deployment ceremony being held for Illinois National Guard soldiers

SPRINGFIELD - A deployment ceremony will be held on February 17 for about a dozen Illinois National Guard soldiers who will be traveling to Afghanistan.

The ceremony will be held at Camp Lincoln.  The soldiers, who are a part of the 232nd Combat Sustainment Battalion, will be deployed for about nine months.

After training briefly in Texas, the soldiers will travel to Afghanistan, where they will help in the withdrawal of U.S. troops as part of Operation Resolute Support.
