Central Illinois Foodbank bringing mobile pantry to Decatur school

Posted:
DECATUR - Hope Academy students will be receiving a special treat during upcoming parent teacher conferences thanks to the Central Illinois Foodbank and Caterpillar.

Foodbank officials say the organization's mobile pantry will be brought to the school on February 17 and February 19 for a student pantry.  According to Food and Agency Resources Director Kristy Gilmore, the pantry will give the students a chance to choose what they want to eat while their parents are in the conferences.

Central Illinois Foodbank officials say the pantry will offer several items, such as oatmeal, string cheese, soup, apples, oranges, and other fresh produce.  The pantry will be open to students from 4:15 p.m. until 7:15 p.m. both days.
