Public invited to tour new Goodwill warehouse

Posted:
JACKSONVILLE - Land of Lincoln Goodwill Industries is giving the public an opportunity to tour its new warehouse and distribution center in Jacksonville on February 21.

The tour will take place from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. at 225 Capitol Way in Jacksonville.  Participants will have a first-hand look at Goodwill's warehouse operations, as well as the special processes that take place there every day.  Members of the public will also have the chance to learn more about Goodwill's recycling and landfill diversion programs.

Goodwill officials say warehouse operations were moved to this new location from Springfield in January 2015.  The new 100,000-square-foot warehouse serves as a central receiving, storage, and distribution point for several Goodwill services.  The warehouse employs 18 people who work as warehousemen, forklift operators, balers, sorters, and transportation specialists.
