20 sickened by carbon monoxide in western Illinois
MAQUON - Western Illinois authorities say more than 20 people in Maquon were affected by carbon monoxide poisoning during a fish fry last weekend.
Authorities say Knox County Sheriff's Department officials received a report at about 7:30 on Saturday of 20 adults and 2 juveniles suffering from carbon monoxide poisoning. Officials say the people who were affected came from several different communities, including Galesburg, Knoxville, and Gilson
Authorities also say that all of the people sickened were taken to medical facilities in Iowa City and Galesburg for treatment. Police say the source of the carbon monoxide is still under investigation.
