URBANA - The Urbana Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying a suspect in a bank robbery that occurred Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities say at about 12:19 p.m. Urbana police officers were dispatched to the Heartland Bank, located on the 1800 block of South Philo Road, for a report of a robbery.  Upon arriving, officers found that the robber had already left the scene.  No injuries were reported.

Officers say surveillance video shows the suspect entering the building's west doors, presenting a note to an employee, and leaving after taking the money.  Police say the suspect ran south, then southwest after exiting the bank.

Police say the suspect is described as a black male, about 20 years old, and standing 5'8" tall with a thin build.  The suspect was wearing a gray and white hooded shirt and dark pants, a tan coat with zippers and lettering on the front and back with the word "SIN" on the back, and pink sunglasses with a dark-colored trapper-style hunting cap with ear flaps.

Police say the investigation into this incident is ongoing.  If you can identify the person shown in the photos shown in this article, or have any information on this crime, please call the Urbana Police Department at (217) 384-2320 or Champaign County Crime Stoppers at (217) 373-8477.
