SPRINGFIELD - Despite the snowy roadways, community members got out Saturday morning to South East High School for the 7th Annual "Disability to Possibility" conference.
The event spotlighted the need for education and readily accessible resources for disabled youth. More than 30 support services providers were present to help community members understand the need for acceptance of those who may have it harder than the rest of us.
From state agencies to vocational school programs, officials were on hand to answer any and all questions regarding youth with disability. Keynote speaker Ann Ford told us the key to helping children with disabilities is to let them just be children, and that acceptance and understanding can help us learn to be more inclusive of one another.
