Parkland College inviting public to attend Anxiety Screening Day

CHAMPAIGN - Parkland College officials are inviting central Illinois residents to attend the school's Anxiety Screening Day on March 4.

The event will be held from 12:00 p.m. until 1:00 p.m. in Parkland College's Room D244.  The information session, titled "Understanding and Treating Anxiety," will feature a panel of local mental health professionals who will discuss the symptoms of anxiety disorders, and treatment options for those disorders.  Panelists will also answer questions from the audience, and discuss ways to get help.

In addition, free confidential screenings will be held in Parkland College's Counseling and Advising Center immediately after the program ends.  Officials say Parkland College is partnering with the Champaign-Urbana Mental Health Public Education Committee to provide this free session.
