EIU to name new president Monday

 CHARLESTON -- Eastern Illinois University plans to name its next president on Monday.

The university's Board of Trustees meets Monday to select a replacement for President William Perry, who plans to retire in June. Perry was hired as president in 2007 after spending most of his career at Texas A&M University.

The Charleston university has been interviewing candidates the past few months. The school has about 8,900 students.
