Nokomis High School ships 12 care packages to soldiers

NOKOMIS - Nokomis High School Principal Advisory students have announced that as a result of the community's effort during their "Soldier Supply" event, 12 care packages have been shipped out to soldiers serving overseas.

Community members came together to donate items and money to ship said items to soldiers from February 2 until February 13.  The care packages are said to contain items such as food, hygiene products, clothing, and books.

According to Nokomis High School Principal Eric Bruder, enough items to fill 32 care packages were collected, but the school only had the monetary donations to ship 12 of the packages.  Bruder also says that the school would like to include as many soldiers in this effort as possible, so school officials are still looking for additional addresses to ship the items to.

If you would like to help in this effort, you can call the Nokomis High School at (217) 563-2014.
