Adams County authorities see drop in meth lab seizures

QUINCY - Illinois State Police officials say they have seen a drop in methamphetamine lab seizures in Adams County last year.

Authorities say large numbers of methamphetamine lab seizures have taken place in Adams County for several years.  However, numbers released by the Illinois State Police show that the number of seizures dropped from 72 to 35 in 2014.

According to Illinois State Police Master Sergeant Patrick Frazier, the drop in meth lab seizure numbers is good news.  Frazier also says "ice," or a form of methamphetamine, is widely available in the area, and that police started seeing an increase in the drug's circulation last summer.
