Central Illinois residents invited to learn how maple syrup is made

DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District is inviting residents to learn more about how maple syrup is made during a special event on March 21.

Programs will be held hourly at 8:00 a.m., 9:00 a.m., 10:00 a.m., 11:00 a.m., and 12:00 p.m. at the Rock Springs Conservation Area.  Participants will learn about the steps that are taken to produce maple syrup, such as tapping a tree, collecting the sap from the tap, and how the sap is converted into syrup.
