ISU officials announce selection of new provost

NORMAL - A former Illinois State University dean has been selected to become the school's provost and vice president of academic affairs.

ISU officials say Janet Krejci was selected on Monday.  Krejci is a former dean of ISU's Mennonite College of Nursing, and had been serving as the interim provost since 2014.  Officials say Krejci was selected over three other finalists.

At Illinois State University, the provost is the chief academic officer, and is second-in-command on campus, behind the president.  Krejci salary will be $275,000 a year.
