2 dead in Tuesday evening 2-vehicle crash

GREENE COUNTY - Illinois State Police say two people have died in a two-car collision in western Illinois Tuesday evening.

Authorities say the crash happened at 7:46 p.m. on River Road, eight-tenths of a mile north of County Road 630N in Greene County.  Police say two individuals were traveling southbound on River Road in a 2002 Ford Ranger when, for unknown reasons, the vehicle crossed the center of the roadway and struck a northbound truck-tractor semi-trailer head on.

Illinois State Police say the passenger of the Ford Ranger was ejected from the vehicle.  Both the passenger and the driver of the Ford Ranger were pronounced dead at the scene of the crash.
