District 61 Board of Education to discuss budget reduction recommendations

DECATUR - The Decatur Public School District 61 Board of Education has announced that it will hold special open and closed executive sessions to discuss the 2015-2016 budget on March 15.

The sessions will begin at 3:00 p.m. in the third floor conference room at the Keil Administration Building, located at 101 West Cerro Gordo Street.  Officials say Board of Education members will discuss budget reduction recommendations for the 2015-2016 school year during this open session.

After the open session, board members will meet in a closed executive session to discuss the employment, appointment, compensation, discipline, performance, or dismissal of specific employees of the public body, and will discuss collective negotiating matters between the Board and representatives of its employees.

Following the closed executive session, another open session will take place, during which officials say action will be taken on the budget reduction recommendations.  Officials also say no action will be taken during the closed executive session.

We will provide more details as they become available.
