Illinois State Police: 1 dead in 2-vehicle crash

CASS COUNTY - Illinois State Police say one man has died in a two-vehicle crash in Cass County Monday morning.

Authorities say a 2003 Buick LeSabre was traveling southbound on Neumansville Road in Cass County, and at the same time a 2001 Ford Fusion was traveling westbound on Illinois Route 125.  Police say a witness reported seeing the Buick LeSabre driving through a stop sign without stopping, and crash into the Ford Fusion.

Illinois State Police officials say the driver of the Ford Fusion was transferred to a Springfield hospital for treatment of serious, but not life-threatening, injuries.  The driver of the Buick LeSabre, identified by the Cass County Coroner as 83-year-old Richard White, was pronounced dead at the scene.

This crash is under the investigation of the Illinois State Police.  We will provide more details as they become available.
