Foundation seeking donations to help renovate the Mill Restaurant

LINCOLN - The Route 66 Heritage Foundation of Logan County is seeking central Illinois residents' help in restoring a Lincoln restaurant into a museum.

Foundation officials say they hope to restore the Mill Restaurant, located on Route 66 in Lincoln, into a museum that will feature a collection of items that represent Route 66 in Logan County.  In order to secure the funds to do so, officials have started an Indiegogo Crowd Funding Campaign to help raise money for the project.

Officials say $93,900 is needed to complete the project, and that the campaign will last until April 25, 2015.  The money will be used to wire the facility for electricity, install an HVAC system, insulate the building, replace damaged surfaces, and add a handicap-accessible entrance and restroom.

All donations are tax-deductible, and any money raised will be leveraged toward possible available grants.  For more information, visit
