Macon County sees decrease in early voting numbers for Consolidated Election

MACON COUNTY - The Macon County Clerk says there has been a sharp decrease in the number of individuals who have voted early in the Consolidated Election this year, in comparison to 2013.

According to Macon County Clerk Steve Bean, only 105 individuals cast early votes in the county clerk's office as of March 16.  That's compared to nearly 1,200 early votes cast in 2013.  Bean would like to remind Macon County residents that they may vote by mail by requesting for a ballot at the county website, or by calling (217) 424-1333.

Potential voters may also register to vote, or can correct their address or name, during Grace Period voter registration and same day voting until April 4.  The Macon County Clerk's Office will be open from 8:30 a.m. until 4:30 p.m., Monday through Friday, and from 9:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m. on March 28 and April 4.
