DANVILLE - The Danville Police Department is offering sixth, seventh, and eighth grade students the chance to join the 2015 Junior Citizen's Police Academy class, starting on April 2.

Officials say applications can be found at the Danville Public Safety Building, Northridge Middle School, and Southview Middle School.  All applications are due by March 30, 2015.  The Academy is free of charge, but applicants must live in Danville or go to school in Danville, and must not have any serious police contacts.

The classes will be held from 6:00 p.m. until 9:00 p.m. for five consecutive Thursdays, beginning on April 2, at the Danville Public Safety Building.  On April 30, a graduation ceremony will be held at Danville City Hall.
