RCC to host electronics recycling event

DECATUR - Richland Community College is offering central Illinois residents the chance to safely dispose of unwanted electronics during the Residential Electronics Recycling Collection event on March 28.

Officials say the event will be held at Progress City, USA, next to the Richland campus, from 9:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m.  Progress City, USA, Macon County Environmental Management, and Advanced Technology Recycling are sponsoring this event.

Officials say there is a limit of 10 items per vehicle that will be accepted during this event, and business and commercial electronics will not be accepted.  We've included a list of items that will be accepted for recycling below:

- Game consoles
- Peripherals
- Scanners
- Microwaves
- Laptops
- Copiers
- Stereos
- Phones
- Cables
- TVs
- Radios
- Pagers
