"Food for Fines" gives LLCC students unique way to pay fines

Posted:
SPRINGFIELD - The Lincoln Land Community College Library is offering students, faculty, and staff the chance to pay off fines and fees on their library account in a unique way during its "Food for Fines" campaign.

Beginning on April 12, and continuing throughout the spring semester, the library will allow fines and fees to be paid with non-perishable food donations during the Food for Fines campaign.  For each item donated, individuals will receive $5 off their total fines.

All of the food collected will be donated to the Central Illinois Food Bank.  Hy-Vee groceries will also match up to $500 worth of items collected.  For a complete list of items that are needed by the Central Illinois Food Bank, visit https://www.centralilfoodbank.org/Volunteer/documents/CIFWishListFlyer.pdf.
