Urbana police investigate shooting incident

URBANA - Champaign County authorities are seeking the public's assistance in their investigation into a shooting incident that happened on March 12.

Authorities say at about 11:59 a.m., the Champaign County Sheriff's Office and the Urbana Police Department responded to a report of shots fired in the area of South Dodson Drive and East Washington Street.  Police say a victim was later located, and that the victim had suffered a non-life-threatening gunshot wound.

Urbana police say the victim told officers that one individual had fired four or five shots from the passenger side door of a large white or light blue four-door SUV with black tinted windows.  The victim also said that the vehicle was last seen traveling eastbound on Washington Street.
