PLANO - Northern Illinois authorities say three preschool children and an adult were injured when the school bus they were traveling in crashed into a group of trees on Thursday.

According to the Kendall County Sheriff's Office, the crash happened near unincorporated Plano as the children were returning home from preschool.  Authorities say the students and one adult were transported to an area hospital for treatment of injuries that were believe to be non-life-threatening.

Authorities also say that one other adult was on board at the time of the crash, but did not suffer any injuries.  The cause of the crash is still under investigation.
