Early voting begins for April 7 elections

CHAMPAIGN - Illinois officials say early voting for several elections throughout the state has begun.

Early voting for the April 7 elections started on Monday.  Officials say mayoral and village president races will be on the ballot in communities throughout Illinois.  Among the races will be the Chicago mayoral runoff, with incumbent Mayor Rahm Emanuel going against Cook County Commissioner Jesus Garcia.  Paul Palazzolo and Jim Langfelder will be running for the mayoral position in Springfield, and Champaign residents will have the chance to vote on a four-person mayoral race.
