Springfield police investigate robbery

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's help in its investigation into a robbery that happened during the morning hours of March 14.

Authorities say the incident happened at about 6:20 a.m. in the 800 block of East Carpenter.  Springfield police say the suspect grabbed the victim's lunch bag, and demanded "give me all your stuff."  Police then say the suspect quickly overpowered the victim, knocked her to the ground, and took her purse before running away.

Springfield police say the suspect is described as young, with a clean-shaven face, standing between 5'10" and 6'01" tall, and weighing up to 220 pounds.  The suspect was wearing a red shirt and a black-colored "doo-rag."
