Macoupin County man facing child pornography charges
CHICAGO - Illinois Attorney General Lisa Madigan has announced that a Macoupin County man has been charged with multiple counts of possessing and distributing child pornography.
In a release, Madigan announced that her investigators, along with the Macoupin County Sheriff's Office and the Illinois State Police, executed a search warrant at a home in Wilsonville, and subsequently arrested Timothy Saxton, 37. The arrest was made as part of "Operation Glass House," an initiative designed to apprehend offenders who download and trade child pornography online.
Madigan also says that Macoupin County State's Attorney Jennifer Watson charged Saxton with two counts of distribution of child pornography and two counts of possession of child pornography. If convicted, Saxton could spend from six to 30 years in prison for each distribution charge, and three to seven years for each possession charge. Saxton's bond was set at $100,000.
Operation Glass House has resulted in 75 arrests since 2010.
