DANVILLE - State Senator Scott Bennett is inviting central Illinois seniors to take part in a pair of free workshops this week.
Officials say the workshops will bring state services and free health screenings to seniors in Danville and Rantoul. Danville's workshop will be held on April 1, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at the CRIS Healthy Aging Center. Rantoul's workshop will be held on April 2, from 9:30 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., at the Rantoul Recreation Department.
Officials say seniors who attend the Danville workshop will be able to view presentations on financial and health care fraud, as well as services offered by Presence Health, Community Action Weatherization/Energy, CRIS Healthy Aging Center, and CURVES Health Club. Flu shots and health care information will be provided, and the officials from the Illinois Treasurer's office will be on hand to help seniors search for unclaimed property through the state's I-CASH Database.
Rantoul workshop participants will have the chance to receive flu shots and healthcare information, and Illinois Treasurer's office officials will help seniors search for property through the I-CASH Database. In addition, AARP will hold a presentation on financial and health care fraud, and seniors will receive information on community volunteer opportunities through Retired and Senior Volunteer Program.
