DECATUR - Macon County Health Department officials will offer a Chronic Disease Self-Management Program beginning in May.

Officials say the program is designed to help people with chronic health conditions learn ways to better manage their conditions and symptoms.  Topics that will be discussed include working with your doctor, personalizing a fitness and exercise program, relaxation techniques, managing symptoms, and more.

Classes will be held on Thursdays, beginning May 14 from 8:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m., at the Decatur Family YMCA.  The program will last six weeks and is free and open to the public.

For more information on this program, or to register, call the Macon County Health Department at (217) 423-6988, ext. 1130 or email mmoomey@maconcountyhealth.org.
