U of I holding events to raise awareness about sexual violence

URBANA - The University of Illinois has announced several scheduled events throughout April designed to raise awareness about sexual violence, as well as to educate the public on ways to prevent it.

U of I officials say the university is committed to having an environment where verbal and physical sexual violence is unacceptable and will not be tolerated.  Therefore, university officials have scheduled several events throughout Sexual Assault Awareness Month to help the community find ways to support survivors and to prevent sexual violence.

Officials are encouraging central Illinois residents to support this cause throughout April by attending and participating in these scheduled events.  For a complete list of events, visit go.illinois.edu/saam2015.
