Illinois Army National Guard member, cousin indicted for allegedly trying to aid ISIS

CHICAGO - A member of the Illinois Army National Guard and his cousin have been indicted for allegedly plotting a terrorist attack on a military installation in Illinois.

Authorities say Illinois Army National Guard member Hasan Edmonds, 22, and his 29-year-old cousin, Jonas Edmonds, face one count each of conspiring to provide material support for terrorism.  Both men were arrested last month for allegedly attempting to aid ISIS.

Prosecutors say the alleged plan was for Hasan Edmonds to travel overseas to join ISIS fighters, while Jonas Edmonds attacked a military facility in Illinois.  Authorities say both men will be arraigned on April 8.
