Homeward Bound Pet Shelter to host 10th annual Woofstock

DECATUR - Homeward Bound Pet Shelter is inviting central Illinois residents to attend their tenth annual Woofstock event on May 2.

Officials say the event will take place at Macon Resources in Decatur, from 9:00 a.m. until 2:00 p.m.  Entertainment will include performances by the Flying Houndz Frizbee Trick Dog Show, as well as a dog parade.  Vendors will be on site, and participants will have the chance to take photos with their dogs, as well as have their pets microchipped.

In addition, a raffle will be held at 1:00 p.m.  Tickets cost $5 each, or five for $20, and can be purchased in advance at Macon Resources or Homeward Bound Pet Shelter.  First prize for the raffle will be a 55-inch Smart TV, and second prize will be $250 cash.

Admission for this event will be $7, with children ages 10 and under getting in free.  Participants are also welcome to bring their dogs with them, and goody bags will be given to the first 200 dogs in attendance.  However, dogs must be on a leash, and must be up to date with vaccinations.
