Decatur Police Department to host "Coffee with a Cop"

Posted:
DECATUR - The Decatur Police Department says it will hold its second "Coffee with a Cop" event on April 14.

Decatur residents will be able to talk with police officers at the McDonald's restaurant located in the 3000 block of North Water Street from 8:00 a.m. until 10:00 a.m.  This event is part of a national program that allows residents to talk about neighborhood issues and safety concerns over a cup of coffee.

Officials say detectives, neighborhood patrol officers, and the police chief will be at this event.  Authorities say "Coffee with a Cop" is also a part of an initiative by the Decatur Police Department to increase transparency between officers and residents, with the goal of strengthening relationships between them.
