Bondville man arrested for alleged reckless discharge of firearm
BONDVILLE - The Champaign County Sheriff's Office says one person has been arrested for allegedly shooting a firearm into the air in Bondville.
Authorities say several individuals reported seeing a man firing a gun into the air at the Frazier Acres trailer park at about 6:42 a.m. Wednesday morning. Authorities also say individuals reported seeing the man enter a mobile home after firing the shots.
According to authorities, deputies arrived at the scene shortly afterward, and attempted to make contact with the man without success. Deputies say they then contacted the man's relatives, who were able to get in touch with the man.
The Champaign County Sheriff's Office says the man, identified as Tyson McKenzie, peacefully surrendered at about 9:13 a.m. McKenzie was arrested on a preliminary charge of reckless discharge of a firearm.
