Decatur residents invited to free community health fair

DECATUR - Macon County Health Department officials say a Community Health Fair will be held in Decatur on April 9.

The fair will be held from 10:00 a.m. until 1:00 p.m. at 901 North Main Street in Decatur, and is part of World Health Day.  The Macon County Health Department, HSHS St. Mary's Hospital, Heritage Behavioral Health Center, Grace United Methodist Church, the DMH Heart and Lung Institute, Decatur Community Partnership, and CHIC are sponsoring this event.

Those who attend will be able to take part in several free screenings, including blood pressure, total cholesterol, spirometry, oxygen saturation, body mass index, nutritional information, and sleep apnea screenings.  Speakers are also scheduled to present on various topics, and will take questions from participants.

Door prizes, refreshments, and giveaways will be available.  This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, call (217) 423-6988 ext. 1130.
