Rantoul man charged with possession, distribution of child pornography

SPRINGFIELD - The U.S. Attorney's Office of the Central District of Illinois has announced that a Rantoul man has been indicted on multiple child pornography charges.

Authorities say Edward Brown, 35, has been charged with two counts of distribution of child pornography and one count of possession of child pornography.  The U.S. Attorney's Office says the charges allege that Brown distributed and possessed images and videos of child pornography from January 2015 to March 2015.

Authorities say Brown was arrested on March 11, 2015, and was ordered detained in the custody of the U.S. Marshals Service on March 12, 2015.  If convicted, Brown faces between five to 20 years for each count of distribution of child pornography, and up to 10 years for possession of child pornography.
