MCCD hosting rain garden creation event

DECATUR - The Macon County Conservation District is inviting central Illinois residents to attend a program that will help participants create a rain garden.

This event will take place at the Rock Springs Nature Center on April 21, from 7:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m.  Officials say this program will cover everything about building a rain garden, from the types of soil used and ideal plant species to cost-share opportunities and ecological benefits.

This event is co-sponsored by the Macon County Soil and Water Conservation District.  Admission is free and open to the public, but interested individuals must pre-register online by April 20.
