Two men shot in Vermilion Co. road rage incident

FAIRMOUNT -- Two men were hurt in a road rage shooting last week in rural Vermilion County.

Vermilion Co. deputies go the call Friday morning from Carle Foundation Hospital in Urbana that a man arrived to the emergency room with a gunshot wound.

Investigators say a 39-year-old Ogden man and a 21-year-old Homer man were shot during the incident along County Road 400E near County Road 1100N, southwest of Fairmount.

The men told investigators it was related to road rage. The two men say they exited their vehicle, and confronted a man driving a black pickup truck. The three got into an argument, and the pickup driver fired a handgun at the two men.

The Homer man was grazed by the shot, and did not require medical attention. The Ogden man was treated and released from the hospital over the weekend.

The incident is still under investigation.
