Central Illinois residents invited to Naturally Illinois Expo

CHAMPAIGN - The Prairie Research Institute is offering central Illinois residents the opportunity to participate in 60 interactive exhibits and demonstrations during their Naturally Illinois Expo on April 17 and 18.

This event will take place at the Forbes Natural History Building on the University of Illinois' Urbana-Champaign campus from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 17, and 10:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. on April 18.  Officials say visitors will be given the chance to talk with Institute scientists and State Scientific Surveys engineers about Illinois' natural and cultural resources.

Officials also says there will be several new additions to the expo this year, including a new biodiversity exhibit, an ultrafiltration exhibit, a cleaner coal exhibit, and much more.  Popular exhibits, such as the Kids' Fossil and Mineral Dig, Stream Erosion, and Animal Bones of Illinois will be returning this year.

This event is free and open to the public.  For more information, visit www.prairie.illinois.edu/expo.
