Villa Grove man sentenced to 17.5 years in prison

URBANA - Authorities say a Villa Grove man who plead guilty to several charges related to the sexual exploitation of minors has been sentenced to 17-and-a-half years in prison.

According to U.S. Attorney Jim Lewis, David Auteberry, 54, pleaded guilty on September 16, 2014, to four counts of sexual exploitation of a minor.  In addition, Auteberry agreed to forfeit all of his computer media.

Authorities say Auteberry allegedly posed as a teenage boy on a social networking website, attempting to coerce minors into taking photos of themselves while engaging in sexually explicit conduct.  Auteberry was arrested on May 2, 2014.

After serving his sentence, Auteberry must register with a sex offender for the rest of his life, and will remain on supervised release for 10 years after completing his prison sentence.
