Springfield police investigate theft

SPRINGFIELD - The Springfield Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in its investigation into a theft incident that happened on April 10.

Springfield police say at about 10:00 p.m., a woman was helping her elderly mother get into her vehicle in the parking lot of Walmart South on Lejune Drive when the suspect, described as a black male in his late 20's, got out of another vehicle, stole the woman's purse, and got back into the vehicle, which was driven by a black female.  Authorities say the woman described the suspects' vehicle as a light-colored Hyundai Tucson, which had fog lamps and was missing a piece of trim from the bottom of the driver's door.
