Decatur police investigate armed robbery

DECATUR - The Decatur Police Department is seeking the public's help in identifying a suspect in an armed robbery that happened during the early morning hours of April 26.

Decatur police say the robbery happened at Casey's General Store, located on South Taylorville Road, at about 12:35 a.m.  Authorities say a white male entered the store, brandished a handgun, and demanded money.  The suspect then left the store, and was picked up by a dark-colored small-to-mid-size SUV.  No injuries were reported in this incident.

Police also say the suspect in this incident may be the same suspect who attempted to rob the Huck's on East William Street on April 25.  Authorities say the suspect was wearing a light-colored hooded sweatshirt with sunglasses and gloves.
