Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce hosting public forum

SPRINGFIELD - The Greater Springfield Chamber of Commerce has announced that it will host a listening session with the Illinois Department of Transportation and Capital Development Board on April 28.

The forum will take place at 2:30 p.m. at the Hoogland Center for the Arts in Theater III.  This forum will be free and open to the public.  During the event, IDOT and Capital Development Board members will speak with attendees, and will offer the public a chance to voice ideas about transportation and capital needs in Illinois.

According to Chamber of Commerce CEO Chris Hembrough, transportation projects help create construction jobs while making travel safer.  Hembrough also says a good transportation and capital bill would "help spur private investment and create private sector jobs."
