Decatur, Illinois receives second place in Hockeyville USA program

DECATUR - Decatur, Illinois has received the second place prize in Kraft Food's Hockeyville USA program.

Decatur's hockey rink was one of 1,324 rinks submitted in this contest, sponsored by Kraft Foods, the National Hockey League, NBC Sports Group, USA Hockey and the NHL Players' Association.

As the runner-up, the Decatur Civic Center will receive $75,000 in rink upgrades.  The first-place rink, the Cambria County War Memorial Arena in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, will receive $150,000 in rink upgrades, and will have the opportunity to host an NHL pre-season game.

Cities rounding out the top ten finalists include:

Albertville, Minnesota
Burbank, California
Rapid City, South Dakota
Fairbanks, Alaska
Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan
East Aurora, New York
Highgate, Vermont
Quincy, Massachusetts

Those finalists received $20,000 in rink upgrades, with Albertville, Minnesota and Sault Sainte Marie, Michigan receiving $40,000 in upgrades for making it to the semi-finals.
