Red Cross holding several blood drives across central Illinois

CENTRAL ILLINOIS - American Red Cross officials are asking eligible donors in central Illinois to participate in blood drives throughout May.

Red Cross officials say donors of all blood types, especially types O negative, A negative, and B negative, are needed to help ensure a steady blood supply.  Those who wish to donate must have a blood donor card or driver's license, be at least 17 years old, weigh at least 110 pounds, and are in good health.
