Champaign authorities identify man who died in Saturday crash

CHAMPAIGN - Champaign County authorities are releasing the name of a man who died after being struck by a motorcycle on May 2.

Authorities say at about 8:50 p.m. a pedestrian was struck by a motorcycle near the intersection of Bradley Avenue and Hickory Street in Champaign.  Champaign County Coroner Duane Northrup says Darron Crowley, 42, was pronounced dead at 9:38 p.m. at Carle Foundation Hospital.  

Northrup says Crowley died as a result of injuries received when he was struck by the motorcycle while attempting to cross Bradley Avenue.  Northrup also says that no autopsy was performed, and that toxicology results are pending at this time.

The Champaign Police Department continues to investigate this incident.  We will provide updates as they become available.
