Springfield Clinic participating in nationwide campaign against high blood pressure

Posted:
SPRINGFIELD - Springfield Clinic officials are raising awareness of high blood pressure and the problems that it can create during its "Measure Up/Pressure Down National Day of Action: Roll Up Your Sleeves!" event on May 7.

The Measure Up/Pressure Down program, sponsored by the American Medical Group Foundation, is a three-year campaign that aims to improve high blood pressure prevention, detection, and control.  Officials say high blood pressure is one of the most significant health issues in our nation, with an estimated 68 million Americans affected.  If high blood pressure is left unchecked, medical officials say it could lead to serious problems, like stroke, heart attack, and kidney disease.

Approximately 150 medical groups across the nation are participating in this effort.  For more information about the Measure Up/Pressure Down campaign, visit www.MeasureUpPressureDown.com.
